The cost of building network into remote places like Uganda may be high as they may lack necessary infrastructure (like roads, electricity grid etc.).
According to New Vision in Uganda, President Yoweri Museveni has sent a letter to Prime Minister Amama that reportedly says he had “received intelligence information that Huawei used inferior cable type G-652 instead of type G-655.”

Outlawing any form of communication is very bad for business and fundamentally destroys any possibilities for economic growth, which Ethiopia desperately needs.
In the last five years websites and blogs critical of the government have been frequently blocked and all Amharic language broadcasts targeting Ethiopia jammed.

Linux in Zambia

The wireless networking is done using standard Wi-Fi kit. An omni-directional high-gain antenna on top of a water tower blankets a 3km radius at the heart of Macha with network signal, while beyond that directional antennas extend the range point to point.
